Womens' Guild Activities 2013-14 

  • The Garden Committee developed and maintained the Memory Garden, including organizing, purchasing and planting bushes and flowers (paid for by those whose loved ones are remembered); and keeping the garden well watered, weeded and maintained
  • The Garden Committee was also responsible for purchasing and maintaining the flowers on the church premises
  • The Altar Society maintained the sanctuary and chapel areas including dusting, vacuuming, watering flowers, and washing and ironing linens
  • Collected, boxed and mailed 22 packages to the military semi-annually; the cost of mailing the packages for 2013-14 was $357.30.
  • Held two bake sales
  • Organized annual parish Communion Breakfast
  • Organized Easter egg hunt attended by approximately 70-80 children, along with organizing a coloring contest
  • Organized weekly zumba classes
  • Donated $500 for the Irish Night to benefit four non-profit organizations in Troy and Rensselaer
  • Mailed sympathy, “thinking of you”, or get well cards
  • The Hospitality Committee obtained food, set and cleaned up for events at the church for which refreshments or food was provided (e.g., Ecumenical Services, The Way of the Cross in the Company of Clowns, the parish mission with Frank Runyeon, etc.)
  • Organized annual fundraising BBQ
  • Members prepared soups for our annual Election Day soup dinner fundraiser
  • In conjunction with the Mens’ Club, sponsored a trip to New York City
  • Held pizza party and ice cream social at meetings
  • Held a Christmas June dinner meetings at the Franklin Terrance for Women’s’ Guild members
  • Provided for camaraderie and snacks at every meeting!

We will be holding a Marian tea, with finger sandwiches, next Saturday, May 10th at 12:00.  All women and girls are welcome and encouraged to join us!
